Wounds, Healing, and Pastes

For cuts, scrapes, punctures, slashes, etc. follow the daily oral dosage of up to 280 milligrams per day/30 lb. dog).
In addition mix some Velvet Antler with water. This will form a black paste.
Clean the wound completely with cold water.
Apply the Elk Velvet paste covering the entire wound thick enough so you can not see through it. Use gauze if required to hold in position and to remember that the affected area needs to breathe to be effective.
Velvet Antler assists to speed up wound healing and this can be a little itchy for your dog. Apply dressing again if your dog is able to remove your application.
Any indentation or hole in the flesh can be filled with your paste application.
A new skin will start to form, followed with a scab enabling the outer edges to shrink inwards. Refrain from washing the wound daily because this will inhibit the skin from naturally forming.
You should not mix any other salves with your Elk Velvet Antler paste as this will not enable oxygen to assist with the healing process.

Important points...
Elk Velvet Antler paste will be absorbed through the exposed open flesh. On average, a thin layer of skin is capable of forming 26 hours after paste application.
Generally, the affected area will contract about 50% in size over that first 6 or 7 days.
Within 2 weeks you will notice some short hair growth covering the scar.
Many wounds will experience sensitivity for your dog as healing takes place during the first 18 day period.

This treatment has shown to be just as effective with humans and canines alike.
After healing with the Elk Velvet paste application many dogs will not show any hints of scar tissue. Scar tissue is connected with the rigid white bumps within the skin. Any place with scar tissue never completely leaves and quite often causes arthritis in that area down the road. The nerve endings are never allowed to totally join correctively and thus can be hurtful in cooler weather.
